Staff Report
The ranks
were thinned, but the MIC will still be ably represented in semi-state
competition next week. In all, the eight league schools advanced 40 wrestlers
in the tournament. The conference crowned 14 regional champions.
Leading the
way were Carmel, Center Grove, and North Central. Each of those schools
advanced seven wrestlers to semi-state. Carmel crowned four regional champions,
North Central and Center Grove each had three winners. Lawrence North was close
behind. The Wildcats advanced six to next week and claimed two titles.
The
remainder of the conference had a bigger struggle. Terre Haute South had a nice
day, advancing five with one champion. Ben Davis advanced four, Warren Central
three, and Terre Haute North one to the next level.
